The reason we have put this website together is to firstly show other people what we have accomplished, and hopefully will give people some ideas or answers on how to do the things we´ve done.

This site is a constant ´work in progress´, so check back regularly for updates..

Purchased on 22nd July 2004, and consisting of 9.2 acres of ´partially constructed house on bush block with creek´, we saw the opportunity to build the alternative ´escape´, and get our children away from the big city suburban sprawl that we were living in.

Originally this property was overgrown and the ´partially constructed house´ was basically knocked down and we started again.

Our goal once completed is to have a fully self sustained & contained property, not reliant on any external services that we can comfortably move into at short notice for the long term if required.

All along this journey we´ve been ridiculed and told we´re ´mad´ to use antiquated methods of doing things (such as a Combustion Stove and WaterWheel), but we never faultered from our original ideas, and stuck with our objectives which has been great, as we can now look back in hindsight and see that we did make ´mostly´ the right decisions.
